This page contains information about the boss The Undying from the game Final Fantasy XII (FF XII, FF12). Read on to know more about this boss fight including the boss' moveset and strategies to use against it.
List of Contents
The Undying's unique feature as a boss is that you don't see his life bar. The only way to figure out if you are close to winning or if his HP level is too low is through observing his moveset or seeing if he is flashing red—a clear indication of critical HP. You can also set your Gambits to realize when he is about to go.
The Undying has access to the Piercing Magicks Firaga, Thundaga, Blizzaga, and Holy. He also buffs himself with Bravery and Faith, both of which must be dispelled immediately soon as they are cast.
Aside from these, he has access to nasty augments such as Chain Magicks, Enrage, and Perfect Defense. Most of his skills deal massive damage to its targets.

As this is the final battle, it is recommended to go all out and worry very little about conserving items. Haste / Hastega on your party should be a priority; you should not worry about any other buffs, as the Undying can cast Dispel on everyone. During his first form, he will be focusing mostly on offensive moves, so normal attacks and magicks are best.
When his HP falls to critical status, the Gil Toss Technick gains its true purpose; if you have amassed a large amount of gil, watch as these hit Vayne's mug for a fixed 10,000 damage per throw. Make sure to utilize this method.
