It is said that this sword was inherited from Li Jun, the first ancestor of the Tianli clan, and it was one of the most proud works of this Lord of Weaponry. After Ji Xia went out to travel, Li Jun, who was in charge as regent, had a headache while attending a memorial. At the time, memorials were all in the form of bamboo slips, so Li Jun forged a sword. On the day the sword was completed, he cut a thousand bamboo slips in front of all the ministers and ordered that empty words and empty talk should be avoided, and that in the future memorials should not be longer than one foot. This sword was used by the first emperor to write red comments, and so it was named "Zhupi," or "red monarch."
