How to Unlock Rose on a Red Field

You can unlock this quest after you talk to Olgierd von Everec during the Hearts of Stone Main Quest Evil's Soft First Touches. A woman named Adela will stop you before you leave Olgierd's residence to give you this quest.

Is Rose on a Red Field Missable or Failable?

You cannot miss or fail this quest even if you finish all the Main Quests in the game.

Objectives
1 Go to Bowdon, kill the ghouls in the area and investigate the clues of Kluivert's murder using your Witcher Senses.
2 Look around for signs of the shooter and follow the tracks.
3 Defeat the knights and read the notes on the knight and on the cart.
4 Go to the knight's lab and deal with the guards outside.
5 Enter the lab and kill all the knights.
6 Go to The Alchemy in Oxenfurt and report back to Adela.

Dealing with the Guards

Knights choice

When you try to enter the Knights lab, you can pay the guards 1000 Crowns to get 100 XP and kill them to get more XP and your 1000 Crowns back.

Combat Strategies

Ghouls

  • Use your signs and bombs to stop them from moving and use that opening to attack.
  • Coat your Silver Sword with Necrophage Oil to deal bonus damage to them.

Drowners

  • Drowners can be burned easily. Use the Igni Sign or bombs that ignite the enemy to make them burn then attack them.
  • Coat your Silver Sword with Necrophage Oil to deal bonus damage to them.

Order of the Flaming Rose

  • Humans have a lot of vulnerabilities, the easiest way to deal with them is to kill them in a certain order starting with the ranged enemies.
  • Coat your Steel Sword with Hanged Man's Venom to deal bonus damage to them.

Rose on a Red Field is not worth doing
