How to Unlock The Taxman Cometh

Go to the Oxenfurt Market while carrying 35000 Crowns and try to exit Oxenfurt Market. A man named Walthemor Mitty will come an ask you a few questions.

You cannot miss or fail this quests even if you finish all the Main Quests in the game.

Objectives
1 Go to Oxenfurt Market and try to exit the market.
2 Answer Wlathemor Mitty's questions.
3 (Optional) Pay your taxes at Vivaldi's Bank.

The Taxman Cometh Choices and Best Choice

Taxman Choice
There is no specific order in which you have to pick the options available. Walthemor Mitty will ask you three questions and the outcome will be determined whether you answered yes to two of his questions or not.

Answer Yes Twice

If you answered Yes to two of his questions, you will be given a Summons to payment which will make you have to pay Vivaldi 1000 Crowns before you will be able to access his services again.

Answer No Twice

If you answered No to two of his questions, you will be given a Taxpayer in Good Standing Diploma and the quest will immediately end.

Best Choice

The best choice here to to answer Yes to two of his questions since a 1000 crowns is pretty cheap while you have 35000 crowns or more in your pocket. This choice also gives you an additional 100 XP for completing the quest.

Is The Taxman Cometh Worth It?

The Taxman Cometh is not worth doing

We do not recommend doing this quest. The benefits that you gain from this quest are not very useful for your progression in the game. Finishing this quest will be mainly for the sake of the game's completion and to have more knowledge about the Witcher World.
