How to Fight Humans and Nonhumans

How to Fight

The best way to fight them is to kill them in a specific order. You can do this by checking what kind of weapon they are currently wielding. Killing them in this order will give you a significantly easier time when dealing with them especially when they are severly outnumbering you. You can also use Signs and Bombs that deal with multiple enemies to quickly reduce their numbers.

  1. Ranged enemies with bows and crossbows
  2. Enemies only carrying one-handed weapons
  3. Enemies with two-handed weapons
  4. Armored enemies
  5. Enemies carrying shields

For the best way to deal with these individual enemies you can do these specific techniques:

  • Ranged Enemies - You can rush them while dodging their arrows and crossbows. When you get close to them they will be forced to pull out a one-handed weapon.
  • One-Handed Enemies - You can counterattack the attacks of these enemies until they are slain. You can also keep attacking them until their stamina runs out from parrying continuously.
  • Two-Handed Enemies - Stagger them using your Signs or Bombs and attack them from behind to prevent them from counterattacking and stunning you.
  • Armored Enemies - Stagger them using your Signs or Bombs and attack them from behind. You should still be careful since they can still counterattack and stun you even when wielding one-handed weapons.
  • Shielded Enemies - Patiently wait for them to attack and counterattack them until they get their shield back up again.

What Preparations to Make?

You should use your Steel Sword and coat it with Hanged Man's Venom to deal bonus damage to them. Prepare bombs like the Grapeshot Bomb or the Dancing Star Bomb to deal with multiple enemies at once.

Special Sign Effects

  • Aard - If your Sign Intensity is high enough, you can knock them down and instant-kill them.
  • Igni - If your Sign Intensity is high enough, they will start burning and you can attack them or others while they are burning.
  • Yrden - Cast the Yrden Sign trap to slow them down if you are having difficulties dealing with multiple enemies.
  • Axii - This will stun them for a good duration or turn them into allies if you have the Puppet or Domination skills.
