How to Play Multiplayer

Interact with the Console at the Battle Barge

How to Access Multiplayer

If it is your first time opening Space Marine 2, complete or skip the intro mission Rain of Terror. You should be in the Battle Barge after the mission.
ⓘ You can skip the intro via an option in the pause menu.
2
At the Battle Barge's Landing Bay area, approach and interact with the console overlooking the hanger to bring up the game mode menu.
ⓘ If you have just completed the intro mission, there is a nearby console you can access at the command bridge before taking the elevator to the Landing Bay.
3
Select either the Operations PvE mode or the Eternal War PvE mode for multiplayer. Select any of the missions or game modes under that menu to to switch to that multiplayer mode.

Invite Friends With Edit Squad

Invite Squad Members

Up to 2 players can be invited for both Campaign and Operations mode. You can access the Invite Menu via the name list at the top right with Edit Squad. Doing this will bring you to a menu with a 5-digit invite code.

Send the invite code to your friends currently playing the game to invite them to the Squad. Or if you are joining one, input the code under the Join the Squad bar.

All Multiplayer Game Modes for Space Marine 2

There are three distinct game modes in Space Marine 2, all of which allow for multiplayer.

  1. Campaign Co-op
  2. PvE Operations (3-Player)
  3. PvP Eternal War (6v6)

How to Play Campaign Co-op

Campaign Mode

Mechanics
Max Players 3 per lobby (1-2 bots depending on players present).
Class Limits Fixed (story-dependent)
Crossplay Allowed
Campaign Progression Saves and progress persists in and out of co-op.
Difficulty Adjustable (4 difficulty levels)
Customization Campaign-limited (Armouring Hall)

Campaign is the default mode you start in when playing the game for first time. Game modes can be switched by interacting with the console in the Battle Barge.

Playable Solo or up to 3 Players

The narrative campaign is playable solo or with up to 2 more friends for 3-player co-op. In this mode, you play as Lieutenant Titus and his battle-brothers Chairon and Gadriel, as you immerse yourself in the game's narrative.

Campaign saves and progression persists whether you play solo or co-op. This means that you do not have to worry about retaking missions or checking back for dataslates if you came from a co-op campaign session.

Played in 6v6 Teams

Eternal War is Space Marine 2's competitive PvP mode, where you can engage in team-based 6 vs 6 player combat. In each team, players choose 1 of the 6 available classes, allowing up to 2 of the same class in a team.

Unlike the two other multiplayer modes, Eternal War matchmaking has no crossplay.

All Eternal War Modes

There are three game types under Eternal War, each with different mechanics: Annihilation, Seize Ground, and Capture & Control.

Annihilation Team Deathmatch: Two teams compete against each other. Each takedown earns your team 1 point. The first team to reach 50 points wins the match.
Seize Ground Domination: Two teams compete to keep control of one zone that’s moving throughout the match. Keeping control of the zone grants your team points. The winner is the team that reaches the total amount of points given.
Capture & Control King of the Hill: There are 3 specific zones in the arena and each team fights to control them. Gaining and keeping control of a zone grants your team points. Be the first to obtain a certain amount of points to win the match.

yeah apparently this isn't an option yet, the 1 reason I paid for early access was to play with my brother who is an enormous 40k fan, currently there is no option on adding a bot or at least I cannot find one. PVE Co-op only supports rando's.

If you're playing with 2 players an Ai plays player 3. Does anyone know if and how you change P3's class?
