For beginners to the action genre, players new to the Warhammer 40K universe, Easy for Campaign is a good starting point for experiencing the game and getting the feel of the mechanics.
Threat: Minimal is the recommended starting point for getting used to Operations and levelling your way to Master-Crafted gear.
For players familiar to the genre and returning players, Normal for Campaign is a good choice for getting a suitable feel and challenge. Threat: Average for Operations is best transitioned to once you have gotten the hang of Operations. It is best to start using Master-Crafted weapons at this level.
In Operations, reductions to drops and Medicae Stimms are less effective in Threat: Average compared to Threat: Minimal, but Mortal Wound on the second Incapacitation is kept.
Recommended for players who have gotten far or have completed the Campaign and have fully grasped the mechanics for both game modes. In Operations, it is best that you have familiarized with your class, invested into several perks, have a good idea of the missions, and are using Artificer gear.
Mortal Wound now occurs on the first incapacitation for Threat: Substantial and Threat: Ruthless. Higher-rank armoury data is also rewarded.
Recommended for those who completed the Campaign, veterans, or players who have invested a lot of experience already into Operations and the Campaign. Enemies prove to be a major challenge this time around, and you cannot afford to make much mistakes. It is best to use Relic gear at this point.
In Operations, even higher-rank armoury data is rewarded. It is best to have set team for this threat level as well as team composition to make through the harsh challenges of the Operations.
