Decapitation has been observed to be the fastest operation to complete for grinding XP and Armory Data. This is it due to being a straightforward Operations mission with simple objectives where you can ignore most enemies aside from one defense section.

With a solid team composition, Decapitation can be completed at around 20 minutes or less. At early game, each completiion of the mission will level you up by 1, meaning you get as much as 3 levels per hour not including downtime or breaks. If the XP gains start to diminish, begin raising the Threat Level of the mission.

Bring Melta Weapons

The Melta Rifle of the Tactical and Vanguard classes, along with the Multi-Melta of the Heavy class, are excellent weapons to bring for quickly clearing hordes and dealing massive damage to the Hive Tyrant.

In a well-coordinated team, at least two classes with these weapons can deal with the Hive Tyrant with one acting as a support (such as a Bulwark). Alternatively, the team may also have a sniper with Las Fusil for large single-target damage.

Raise Operations Threat Level

Raising the Operations Threat Level will give you higher XP rewards and higher tier Armory Data. Change them by interacting with the console Launch Bay of the Battle Barge and switching to that mode and select difficulty at the top-left corner of the menu.

Collect Gene-Seeds

Successfully completing a mission while carrying a Gene-Seed will give around a 30% XP bonus to all party members. However, if the holder becomes incapacitated or dies, the bonus will be lost.

Cannot Carry Guardian Relic

The Space Marine carrying a Gene-Seed cannot have a Guardian Relic with them. This means you'll need to rely on teammates to revive you in case you fall while carrying it.

Stick with Your Lobby

If your whole squad is doing well and are willing to grind a mission out, it is best to stick with them than to look for another squad right after completing a mission (not to mention the loading and server joining times).
