Eternal War PvP Guide and Tips

Know the Map

It may go without saying but knowing the ins and outs of the map will make it easier for you to traverse and get to locations quicker than others.

Knowing the lay of the land will allow you to shake off enemies chasing after you, get to firefights quickly, intercept enemies from behind, and more.

Stick With Your Team

Fighting as a team will greatly increase your chances of success. Fighting solo will often get you picked off, so try not to leave sight of your team and focus fire on individual targets to dominate encounters.

Aim for the Head

Shots to the head deal significantly more damage so try to keep your aim at enemy heads to get their HP down as fast as possible and emerge from firefights victorious. A little bit of accuracy goes a long way.

Use Grenades Strategically

A well-placed grenade is capable of many things: It can deter an ambush from the enemy team by decreasing their numbers or splitting them up, it can distract enemies allowing you time to escape, and it can put pressure on an enemy, making them easier to kill, among other uses.

You Can Parry and Block

Parrying in PvP may not come with color-coded alerts but you can still parry enemies' melee attacks, thus nullifying all damage. Parrying won't open enemies up to an execution but it'll certainly help your survivability against melee-focused opponents.

Use Cover to Your Advantage

Since there is no hide-behind-cover function in Space Marine 2, you will need to find your own cover in whatever walls and obstacles you can find.

Use walls to peek behind corners without alerting enemies to your presence. Hide behind objects to protect yourself from enemy fire. Move in and out of cover to get the jump on exposed enemies.

Always Know Your Team's Status

Always be aware of what your team is up to. You can see your team through walls and notice if they are in combat, running away, or if they have been defeated. Use this information to guess where the enemy is or where they might end up next.

Play to the Strengths of Your Class

Most important is to play to the strengths of your class. Assault classes are best utilizing their jump packs and hammers to get close to enemies. Bulwarks and Heavies should always be with the team to lend a supporting hand. Snipers are the best long-range fighters and benefit from keeping distance and firing from spots with good line of sight.

Tips for Playing Each Class in PvP

Assault ・Hover by pressing the Sprint button or aiming while airborne. Use Jump Pack as a distraction or as an ambush.
Bulwark ・Don't fight while outnumbered. Your shield will get staggered by heavy attacks. Retreat to support another squad member and stick with your team.
・Great for Capture & Control and Seize Ground due to Chapter Banner skill.
Vanguard ・Focus on picking off people 1v1
・Use the Grapnel on the environment. You can chase down enemies, or use it to escape.
・Use Shock Grenades. A perfectly-placed Shock can net you 2 kills instead of just 1, and can be used on a group of enemies.
Sniper ・Make use of the best sniping spots in every map.
・Use Camo Cloak tactically to ambush or escape.
・Keep away from the action.
Tactical ・Slightly harder to use in Annihilation, but the other two game modes are great for the Tactical, since there's a much higher likelihood of the enemies clumping together in a zone for more Auspex hits.
Heavy ・Stay behind the Assault, Vanguard, and Bulwark classes. Fire from midrange to inflict massive damage.
・Hang around corners for some cover, since the Heavy is slow.
