Rain of Terror Mission Walkthrough

There are 9 objectives to complete in the Rain of Terror prologue mission in Space Marine 2:

1. Locate the Crashed Deathwatch Craft
2. Retrieve the Virus Bomb
3. Reach the Orbital Launcher Facility
4. Find the Orbital Launcher
5. Load the Virus Bomb into the Orbital Launcher
6. Locate the Orbital Launcher's Activation Console
7. Activate the Orbital Launcher
8. Survive Until Activation is Complete
9. Launch the Virus Bomb into the Stratosphere

Locate the Crashed Deathwatch Craft

Movement Tutorial

This mission functions as your tutorial, so pay attention to the on-screen prompts to get a sense for how to play the game. Upon starting the game, you will be asked to move and look around.

Combat Tutorial

Follow the set path until you're asked to perform 5 Light Melee Attacks on a small group of Tyranids. After they've been dispatched, note the Sprint tutorial and run ahead along the path to the next location.

Heavy Attack

Next, you will have to learn how to Heavy Attack and Parry enemies. Hold the Attack button to perform a Heavy Attack three times on enemies.

Parry Tutorial

Afterwards, you will have to press the Parry button just before an enemy's hit lands in order to Parry them. Do this three times to move on to the next area.

Dueling Tutorial

Moving on to the next area, you will need to engage in combat with a Majoris (elite) level Tyranid. Lock on to the enemy and press the Dodge button to dodge its red attack. Any other attack can simply be Parried.

Once you've damaged the enemy enough, it will flash red, allowing you to use a Finisher Execution.

Gun Strike Tutorial

Move on to the next area and destroy the rocks in your way until you are given the Gun Strike tutorial, in which you need to hold the attack button to perform a Heavy Attack on a small enemy, marking it with a red crosshair.

Once it has been marked, press the fire button to execute it with a Gun Strike, which also restores some Armor charges. Do this three times to proceed to the next area, where you will find the crashed Deathwatch Craft and move on to the next Objective.

Retrieve the Virus Bomb

This Objective is short: Simply head down to the crashed vessel, defeat all enemies and pick up the Virus Bomb from the dead Space Marine.

Reach the Orbital Launcher Facility

From here on out, there will be less tutorials, so use everything you've learned to defeat hordes of enemies and keep on advancing through the linear path until you reach the Orbital Launcher Facility. Enter through the destroyed wall to reach the next objective.

Find the Orbital Launcher

Obtain Bolt Rifle

Upon entering the facility, you will find a corpse being devoured by vermin. Obtain the Bolt Rifle to gain access to your Primary Weapon, which will greatly help you take down even stronger enemies.

Reach Orbital Launcher

Advance through the facility, mowing down hordes of Tyranids, until you find the Orbital Launcher in a building behind large metal doors that will automatically open for you.

Load the Virus Bomb into the Orbital Launcher

Simply interact with the Orbital Launcher, which is the large cylindrical object to the side. After this, you will move on to the next objective.

Locate the Orbital Launcher's Activation Console

Progress through the area, defeating more enemies, until you ride an elevator that takes you to an open area of the facility, where the Activation Console should be.

Activate the Orbital Launcher

Activate the Orbital Launcher console found at the other end of the open space.

Survive Until Activation is Complete

You will need to survive a large ambush of enemies. Grab the nearby Frag Grenades and throw them down into the pit, where tons of Tyranids are trying to climb up to the second level.

Launch the Virus Bomb into the Stratosphere

During the ambush, you can proceed to the next objective immediately by heading towards the console once more and triggering a cutscene.

As the final part of the mission, you will need to play through a scripted sequence where you cannot die. Simply keep on defeating Tyranids and fighting against the Carnifex that appears until the mission ends with a cutscene.
