Match Black Color with Nuln Oil from the Omega Marines

Sample Origin Chapter: Black Templars
Right Pauldron Primary and Tertiary Colors vary depending on the Space Marine's origin chapter before being put into Deathwatch.

Unlike other chapters, the Deathwatch does not have a preset color pattern in the Astartes Chapters catalogue.

Nuln Oil from the Omega Marines in the Astartes Heraldry is the best match for the common black color of Deathwatch. The traditional scheme for Deathwatch has the left pauldron and arm in silver (already provided by the in-game armor pieces) while the right pauldron preserves the Space Marine's origin chapter colors.

Right Pauldron Symbolizes the Origin Chapter

Deathwatch Carcharodon

Above is a sample Deathwatch Space Marine from the Carcharodons.

Standard to the Deathwatch are the right pauldrons of the Space Marines having their origin chapter's color and emblem preserved. Emblems for the right pauldron are still limited, so you will want to focus on the colors instead.

An exception to this is if you want to take on the role of a Deathwatch Black Shield, a Space Marine who has cut ties with his origin chapter. In this case, you can leave the right pauldron black and without an emblem.

What is the Deathwatch?

Handpicked Veteran Space Marines for the Inquisition

Titus in the Deathwatch Black Shield

The Deathwatch is an Astartes Chapter formed from selected veteran Space Marines of different chapters. While chapters pick a number of their own to serve in the Deathwatch based on veterancy, some special circumstances may also be considered (for example, Titus serving in the Deathwatch Black Shield at the start of the game.)

Deathwatch primarily answers to the Ordo Xenos of the Inquisition, the secretive intelligence and police force of the Imperium of Mankind.
