As for strategy settings, it would be best if Palamena can target ranged enemies since she can deal burst damage from afar to help the tank get up close and personal.

Palamena has a variety of elemental magic that she can use depending on her class. Try to stay far away from your enemies to give you time to channel your spells.

Swap Moves Based on Enemy Weakness

Since Palamena has Attack Magic for each element, try to assign 1 of each element in your Moves shortcut (max 4) so you can make use of your enemy's weakness. You can also use the Ring menu (max 8) to assign your moves so you have a much wider variety.

After Meeting the Queen in Illystana, Capital of the Deep

In order for Palamena to join your party, you have to follow the Chapter 2 main questline until you meet the Queen and receive the objective: Go to the palace.

She will join your journey as the Alm of Water after clearing the trouble lurking in the capital.
