Use Fire-Based Skills Such as Flame Saber and Fireball

The Kraken is weak to fire, so using fire-based skills such as Flame Saber and Fireball can help ease the boss fight. Flame Saber imbues an ally's weapon attack with fire, while Fireball deals fire damage to targetted foes.

Use Val's Guard Class Strike

Val's Initial Class, Guard, has a Fire Element Class Strike named Phoenix Fervor. When the CS Gauge is filled, it is recommended to switch to Val and use Phoenix Fervor to dish out damage.

Attack the Tentacles to Deal Guaranteed Crits

Attacking the tentacles guarantees a critical hit, which increases your damage output by twice the amount. Deal as much damage as possible when its tentacles are within range.

It is recommended to attack the tentacles after they slam on the ship, which can be indicated beforehand by the red target markers appearing on the surface.The tentacles will be immobile for a while after they slam on the ship.

Use Luna Globe to Slow Down Kraken's Movements

The Luna Globe can slow down the Krakens attacks. This creates an opening to take advantage of the guaranteed crits and deal as much damage as possible.

Use the Luna Globe after its tentacle attack to prevent the tentancles from moving, allowing you to dish out a good number of hits on it. Using the vessel during its attack can allow the Kraken to escape the vessel, avoiding the slowing field.

How to Unlock Luna Globe

Aim Sylphid Boomerang on the Tentacles

The Sylphid Boomerang can attach itself to the tentacles, dealing damage over time. Launching it on the tentacles guarantees critical hits, and follows the tentacle until it expires.

It is recommended that you lock on to the tentacles when using Sylphid Boomerang to optimize the damage dealt by its lingering effect.

How to Unlock Sylphid Boomerang

Avoid the Ink to Prevent Getting Staggered

The Kraken can launch ink that remains in the area and deals damage over time. While its damage is low, it can stagger the characters and interrupt their actions. Players are advised to avoid the ink to maximize their damage.

Dodge Tentacle Swipe by Jumping

The Kraken will execute a tentacle swipe that engulfs a large part of the ship, which can be indicated beforehand by the red target markers on the ship. Dodge this attack by jumping to avoid getting hit on the ship's surface.

Attack or Dodge AoE Bubbles From Kraken

The Kraken will perform an AoE attack that involves spreading bubbles around the ship that will stagger you when it hits and decrease some of your HP. You could either dodge the incoming bubbles or attack them to prevent getting staggered.

Dodge Kraken's Suction Attack

During the battle, the Kraken will execute an attack where it creates a vacuum that can swallow party members in the attack's vicinity. If the Kraken manages to swallow the party, it will spit them right out to deal damage and spread Ink all over the ship.

When the vacuum begins to initiate, dash away from the area to avoid getting swallowed by the Kraken. You may still need to avoid the inks scattered around, but you will accumulate no damage from being spat out.
