The best party members for Careena would be Val and Julei. Use Val as your tank with the Aegis class so he can taunt and provoke enemies while Julei will be your healer just in case you get low from enemy attacks.

As for strategy settings, it would be best if Careena could target the same enemies the tank is attacking so she can quickly defeat them without risking herself too much.
It's recommended to keep all of your support magic active for your Auto-Use settings so she can buff her ally's ATK.

Apply Buffs and Debuffs During Battle
At the start of the battle, it is best to apply all your buffs such as Strengthen and Pressure Point to your allies and yourself so everyone can benefit from the increased ATK. Careena can also use Defenseless against enemies to make them easier to defeat.
Spam Your Combo Moves
Careena has a lot of Command moves that she can learn from each class. Try to mix them up in between your combos to deal the highest amount of damage you can.

Attempt to Wind Dye in Chapter 1
In order for Careena to join your party, you have to follow the Chapter 1 main questline until you encounter her and receive the objective: Attempt to wind dye.
She will then ask you to accompany her to Mt. Gala, which will add her to your party.
