Unlike previous games, Luigi has the same abilities as other characters.

The only difference playing as Luigi is his appearance and voice, and how he looks like when transformed by power-ups such as the Elephant Fruit or by Wonder Effects.

Luigi can use power-ups that you can find around the stage, such as Fire Flowers and the Elephant Fruit! This grants Luigi new abilities and attacks, and even a new appearance!

Since Luigi has the same abilities as the other characters except the Yoshis and Nabbit, they are a great choice for almost any course in the game.

We recommend using Luigi on courses that has a lot of power-ups or requires a specific power-up to access new areas and get all the collectibles.
