Where to Do Infinite 1-Up Trick

Go to Scram, Skedaddlers in World 1

The Infinite 1-Up Trick method can be done in the course, "Scram, Skedaddlers", in Pipe-Rock Plateau (W1).

How to Do Infinite 1-Up Trick

1. Eliminate the Skedaddlers
2. Drop the Shell Between the Red and Green Pipes and Put Them Closer
3. Repeatedly Jump on the Shell While Sliding On the Pipe

Eliminate the Skedaddlers

Jump on top of the Skedaddlers to eliminate them. You'll be using the pipes for the infinite 1-Up trick and it's best to do it without any enemies nearby.

Drop the Shell Between the Red and Green Pipes and Put Them Closer

Grab the shell from the red Koopa on the left of the pipes and drop the shell between the green and red pipe.

Push the green pipe to the right to make the space between the two pipes smaller. The space should be small enough for your character to fit and for the shell to stay in place.

Repeatedly Jump on the Shell While Sliding On the Pipe

Drop down from the pipes, step on the shell and jump off it, and simultaneously push the L Analog Stick to the right to slide off the pipes. Repeat this process to collect 1-Ups until your lives are maxed out.

Lightly Jump Off the Shell

The trick is to lightly press or quickly tap the jump button when you jump on the shell to avoid jumping too high and accidentally landing on top of the pipes.

Ensure that you jump as soon as your feet touch the shell!

Continuously Stepping on Enemies Increases Your Life

Continuously stepping on enemies without stepping on the ground will increase the score from Good to Wonderful in 8 jumps, with the following scores turning into 1-Ups.

You Can Get Up to 99 Maximum Lives

You can have up to 99 lives in the game, and this helps to ensure you won't reach a Game Over for a while.

The disadvantage of having 99 lives is that you won't get to play the bonus stage: Coins Galore! after getting a game over.
