You can start by playing as Yoshi or Nabbit to get a feel for the game, as they won't take damage from enemies and traps in the courses.
Best Character for Kids and Beginners
Most characters, except of Yoshi and Nabbit, share a similar gameplay experience. This includes the effects of power-ups and the forms you'll take on when using them.
Do the Characters Play Differently?
You'll be able to see live player shadows in real-time while you're in the map or when playing courses while you're connected to the internet. Standees can sometimes be present in your course for you to take advantage of.
These player shadows can provide items when you're in need and revive you when you're in ghost form, giving you another chance to complete the course without losing a life!
How to Play Online Multiplayer with Friends
You can ride Yoshi that are used by other players! Simply jump on top of Yoshi and this will mount you to him. Yoshi has unique skills that can be quite helpful in courses.
Compete against your friends in a friend race and see who reaches the goal pole first! In some courses, you'll need to collect a Wonder Seed or defeat a Boss to complete them.
Heart Points show how much you or another player has helped others. Earn heart points by reviving players, giving them your stored item, or by reaching the goal pole together in a course!
How to Get Heart Points and All Uses
You can use stored items when you need power-ups. To store items, simply touch them while you're in a different form from your previous power-up.
Additionally, you can deploy Item Balloons to give your stored item to other players, helping them in certain areas of the course.
Look for Captain Toad in different areas of the map and get rewards upon finding him. Be sure to explore every nook and cranny to discover these hidden areas!
All Captain Toad Locations and Rewards
It's a good idea to save both before and after completing courses in Super Mario Bros. Wonder. While the game has an Autosave function, saving regularly can be a helpful precaution.
