Yoshi and Nabbit Are Beginner Friendly

Super Mario Wonder - Yoshi and Nabbit

Out of all the playable characters, the four colored Yoshis and Nabbit are the only ones to not take a damage when touched by an enemy. This means that players can easily clear a course without worrying about dodging enemies on their way.

Take note that they can still lose a life if they fall down on pits or environmental hazards like lava.

Yoshis Have Their Own Moveset

One thing to note is that all the Yoshis have their own movesets that sets them apart from other characters.

Just like in other Mario games, Yoshis can flutter jump which lets them briefly hover in air. They can also eat objects like shells, fire and even some enemies. They also have an ability to spit the objects they ate to deal damage to an enemy.

Unfortunately, with how great they are as playable characters comes the downside of not being able to use the power-ups on courses. What this means is that they cannot utilize the powers given by items such as Fire Flower, Elephant Fruit, Super Mushroom and many others.

However, even if Nabbit can't use power-ups, he will instead turn them into Flower Coins when collected.
