Yoshi and Nabbit Play Differently

Super Mario Bros Wonder - Yoshi and Nabbit

Playing as one of the four Yoshis or as Nabbit acts as the game's easy mode, as you are unaffected by damage from enemies and hazardous obstacles. However, falling into pits will still cost you a life.

The downside of playing these characters is that they won't be able to transform with power-ups.

Yoshi's Unique Skills

Flutter Jump and Eating

Yoshi can flutter jump to reach higher places, eat objects and enemies, and spit them out to deal damage to other enemies.

Most Characters Play the Same

Super Mario Bros Wonder - All Characters

If you're playing a character other than the Yoshis and Nabbit, they all share similar gameplay mechanics. They interact the same way with power-ups and can jump to the same height, with the only difference being their appearance when taking on different forms.

Character-Specific Blocks

Super Mario Bros Wonder - Character-Specific Blocks

Some blocks are only visible to the intended character and will remain hidden when playing as a different character. You can still bump the block to get the coin or item inside.
