How to beat Carrot

Details

Carrot is part of the Elite Marks hunt and is a Rank VII monster on the list. It is a large Malboro and is also part of the conditions to convince Jovy.

In the trial mode, Carrot will be with four Vivians. Additionally, the Crypt Bunny may or may not appear. It can also yield the Nihopalaoa through a character stealing the item.

Moveset

Carrot loves its status buffs. Dispeling these buffs will make it cast Hero's March, which will re-cast all of these buffs quickly. Like a true Malboro, it will cast status ailments by using a breath attack with a wide range.

When it goes down to half of its HP, Carrot will cast Growing Threat to double its level. Holy-element attacks damage it, since its element is aligned with the Undead class.

Gambit

Strategy

Dispeling Carrot will enable Hero's March, so the party should prepare to cast Dispel again. Remedies or Esuna are recommended to deal with the Malboro's attacks. Equipping accessories like Ribbons or, at least, Black Belts or Power Armlets will help.

Use Expose when Carrot is at critical HP to keep its defense lowered. The player's party could resort to using X-Potions, since Carrot is an undead and will be affected by healing attacks. Holy-element weapons and spells are also effective.

It is recommended to kill Carrot immediately after it enters HP Critical and casts Growing Threat, since it deals damage that can go well over 4,000, killing characters even under the Protect status.
