Making Sunstones

This is the article page for the Making Sunstones miscellaneous quest of the game Final Fantasy XII: The Zodiac Age (FFXII, FF12, FF XII Zodiac Age). Item locations, tasks that need doing, and other important aspects of the side mission are available here.

Making Sunstones Objectives

When you speak with Masyua, you'll find out that a child collecting Dark Stone energies with the help of empty shadestones is missing. The shadestones are an important part of this quest, seeing as a filled shadestones is known as a Sunstone--needed to activate the Crescent Mark in the Palace.

The Missing Youth

The children of the village will tell of Jinn, a child who is especially adept in filling up shadestones into Sunstones. He is missing, and one of the village adults, Masyua, will ask you for help in tracking down the youth. Do so to earn a reward, as well as a Sunstone.

Jinn in Trouble

You'll find Jinn near a Dark Stone that's empty. He will tell you of how a werewolf startled him as he was gathering energy from a Dark Stone and broke his ankle while running away. He will then ask you for help filling up his remaining shadestones, and makes a promise to give you one of the filled stones as thanks.

A New Career for Vaan?

Proceed to fill up the stones for Jinn, and head back to the village with him and the stones. Masyua will scold him for being too risky, but she will thank you for your efforts. As promised, you receive a filled shadestone--a Sunstone--as well as other rewards for bringing back Jinn without a scratch.
