Change Combatants in Battle

FF X adds a new feature that allows you to change fighters while in the battle itself. This makes strengthening all characters worth it in the game.

How to Swap Characters

Characters can be swapped during your turn by pressing the L1 Button. Only the character that acts on that turn can be swapped with the characters on the back.

Benefits of Swapping

Character Swaps can be used for several things. Here are the most common benefits of swapping:

  • Letting Everyone Gain AP.
  • Hide an injured character.
  • Use an ability from characters in the back.
  • Summoning an Aeon
  • Casting Buffs
  • Applying Debuffs
  • Fleeing from an enemy
  • Healing frontline fighters
