Active Shield is worth investing points into
As this skill has quite a few uses and can be used in several builds, we recommend building this skill. This skill will usually always come in handy, though there may be instances where you should prioritize another skill instead. If you have extra points and do not know where to invest them, this skill is a good option.
The defensive power of this skill is very versatile depending on how you use it. The shield is very effective when dealing with either a strong or a weak opponent. This skill also gains the benefits from the skills Exploding Shield, Quen Intensity, and Quen Discharge.
Having the shield up against weaker opponents can save you from being swarmed by them, while the shield can heal you a lot if you are against stronger opponents. The stamina drained is proportional to the strength of the opponents attack.
Conclusion
If you have invested your skills under the Quen Sign Core Ability, then it is definitely worth it to get this skill. This skill boosts your defensive capabilities by a significant amount and will definitely help you in any difficulty.
