A stationary magic trap that can slow enemy movement
Casts a protective shield to prevent taking damage
Deals fire damage and a chance to apply burning
Influences opponents' mind

Each Sign can be upgraded with skill points and have an additional effect which can be used in combat to make fights easier or in quests to change the outcome of the story.
Some of the Signs you cast can also help you in other situations like lighting up torches or braziers using your Igni or using your Aard to break down collapsable walls. You can even use your Axii in various situations during dialogues, if you have Delusion.

If you want a similar game, try playing Kingdom Come Deliverance, it's first person and not as smooth but it gives me the same vibes as the Witcher but a lot more realistic and hardcore
