This is a walkthrough for South Varennes in Romancing Saga 2: Revenge of the Seven. Read on for the story walkthrough, locations of Mr. S, and the locations of the Memories of the Seven Heroes in South Varennes.

| 1 |  ・ Once you have defeated Kzinssie, a year will pass in-game and you will be able to advance into South Varennes. |
| * |  ・Abilities will be unlocked at the start of this chapter. Make sure to check your menu for the abilities that you have acquired. |
| 2 |  ・Before you leave the city, go to the throne room and sit on the throne. From there, you will be able to Develop Facilities. ┗ It is recommended that you build the Smithy first, this will cost you 200,000 crowns. |
| 3 |  ・When you leave the throne room, you will find Mr. S just outside the door. ┗ This will start the Mr. S Discovery, finding Mr. S will give you benefits in the game. ▶︎ All Mr. S Locations and Rewards |
| 4 |  ・When you're ready to leave, open the world map and fast travel to Nibel. |
| 5 |  ・Approach the NPC on the left side of the bar and speak with him. ┣ Choose I am the Emperor! in the dialogue option. ┗ You will unlock the Dragon Lair and Fiends' Cloister in the world map. |

| 7 |  ・Continue traveling to the depths of the Dragon Lair and speak with the leader of the Martial Artists. ┣ While speaking with the leader, choose I shall help you anyway. ┗ If you do this, you will be able to recruit the Martial Artists after clearing the Fiends' Cloister. |
| 8 |  ・Open the world map and fast travel to the Fiends' Cloister. |
| * |  ・Follow the blue light and discover the Memory of the Seven Heroes deep inside the Fiends' Cloister. ▶︎ All Memories of the Seven Heroes Locations |
| * |  ・Find Mr. S near the center of the map. ▶︎ All Mr. S Locations and Rewards |
| * |  ・Obten the Ring of Nibel from one of the treasure chests inside the Fiends' Cloister. ┗ This ring will increase the base value of your stamina, it is recommended to equip this to an ally that requires high endurance. ▶︎ List of All Accessories |
| 9 |  ・The Boss you are looking for in the Fiends' Cloister is the Gel Matter. ┣ Gel Matter is weak to Fire, Water, Wind, Light, and Dark. Magic attacks are effective against him, but you can also use Slash techs as well. ┣ The recommended formation is Free-for-All. ┗ You will receive Candy Ring as a reward for defeating the Gel Matter. |
| 10 |  ・After Defeating the Gel Matter, you will be asked to either " Return to the Dragon Lair and report to the martial artist." or to "Proceed deeper into the cave.". Choices: ▶︎Return to the Dragon Lair and report to the martial artist. : Will allow you to recruit Martial Artists as part of your retinue. You can also go further in but make sure not to defeat the enemy at the back before you report to the Leader of the Dragon Lair. ▶︎ Proceed deeper into the cave.: If you choose to go further in and defeat the enemy there, you will not be able to recruit the Martial Artist class into your retinue. |
| 11.1 |  ▶︎ Return to the Dragon Lair and report to the martial artist.: ・After going back to Dragon Lair and reporting to the Leader, he will have to defeat the Crawler waiting at the end of the Fiends' Cloister. ┣ Travel back to the Fiends' Cloister and meet with the Martial Artist Leader to clear the mission. You will now be able to recruit the Martial Artists into your retinue. ┗ You will now be able to travel to Tefal. |
| 11.2 |  ▶︎ Proceed deeper into the cave.: ・If you chose this option, then you will be the one to fight the Crawler. ┣The Crawler is weak to Spear Attacks. ┣ Since you chose to defeat the monster yourself, you will not have a good relationship with the Martial Artists. You won't be able to unlock this class for recruitment. ┗ After defeating the Crawler, you will be able to travel to Tefal. |
| 12 |  This will only happen if you decide to beat the Crawler. ・After dealing with the Crawler, head back to the Dragon Lair and speak with the Dragon. This will initiate a fight with him. ┣ this is a one-on-one fight, but he is not very strong. No special preparations are needed. ┗ After defeating him, he will become a candidate for succession. You can make him your ally by making him emperor. |

| 2.1 |  ▶︎ If you have completed the Avalon's Cat Burglar side quest: ・When you arrive at the Canal Fortress there will be two orange marks. Follow the one that leads into the Tavern. Do not try and force your way through the gate. ┣ Cat will be in the tavern and will show you the hidden passage. ┗ The number of enemies in the fortress will decrease with her help, she will also be putting markers on the wall to help guide your way. |
| 2.2 |  ▶︎ If you haven't completed the Avalon's Cat Burglar side quest: ・ You have the option of forcing your way through the gate or paying the tavern man 20,000 crowns to use the hidden passage. |

| * |  ・Get the Starstone on the 3rd floor, near the save point. There will be another chest with 200,000 crowns beside it. ▶︎ List of All Accessories |
| 3 |  ・Make your way through the dungeon and face Vicar at the very back of the fortress. ┣ Vicar is weak to Sword, Physical, Earth, and Wind damage. ┣ The Lizard is weak to Spear, Axe, Earth, and Wind Damage. ┗ Pyrorex is weak to Sword, Greatsword, Axe, and Water Damage. |
| 4 |  ・After defeating Vicar, South Varennes is unified and there will be an era jump. |
