Desert Guard is one of the playable and unlockable classes in Romancing Saga 2: Revenge of the Seven. See how to unlock Desert Guard, its ability, and the formation it will unlock when selected as Emperor.
Travel to Teretuva and complete the Hunting the Wandering Lake quest. Choose whether to negotiate with Noel or face him in battle. The Desert Guard class will become available to recruit available afterwards.

Defense | Increases the chance of being targeted by enemy attacks when using counterattack techniques. |
To unlock the Provoker ability, defeat 30 enemies after annexing at least one territory to activate the feature to learn abilities. This grants passive buffs from the ability. To master Provoker, defeat an additional 30 enemies once the feature to master abilities is available after annexing seven territories. Mastery allows Provoker to be equipped across any class.

To gain access to the Desert Fox formation, appoint Desert Guard as the Emperor. Afterward, visit the Training Hall and speak to the Soldier NPC to unlock this new formation.
