Salamander is one of the playable and unlockable classes in Romancing Saga 2: Revenge of the Seven. See how to unlock Salamander, its ability, and the formation it will unlock when selected as Emperor.
To unlock the Salamander class, complete the The Volcano's Eruption questline. Head to the crater of Mt. Comroon, select the option to Break apart the hardened lava!
and then speak with the Salamander Chief. Remember, recruiting the Salamander will block you from recruiting the Diviner and unlocking Umbrology.

To unlock the Pyro Benison ability, defeat 30 enemies after annexing at least one territory to activate the feature to learn abilities. This grants passive buffs from the ability. To master Pyro Benison, defeat an additional 30 enemies once the feature to master abilities is available after annexing seven territories. Mastery allows Pyro Benison to be equipped across any class.

To gain access to the Volcanic Heart formation, appoint Salamander as the Emperor. Afterward, visit the Training Hall and speak to the Soldier NPC to unlock this new formation.
