List of Contents

Emperor | |||
---|---|---|---|
Gerard | |||
Retinues | |||
Bear | James | Therese | Aries |
After Gerard inherits the Emperor's abilities, add Aries to your party. Aries can use Life Water to heal your party members and have a decent-sized BP for spell casting which is the mage's main source of combat power.
Kzinssie's main weakness is the holy element similar to your first fight with him in Somon. If Gerard and Bear can both learn Cross Cut, you can deal absurd amounts of damage to Kzinssie especially if you use Overdrive with both of their attacks.
Cross Cut is a skill that can be glimmered from Double Cut so be sure to always use your sword to raise its proficiency and use the said skill for a chance to learn it!
Emperor | |||
---|---|---|---|
Mercenary | |||
Retinues | |||
Heavy Infantry | Light Infantry | Brawler | Court Mage |
The Mercenary has good proficiency with melee weapons. Assigning the Mercenary as the new emperor will allow you to capitalize its strong proficiency to these weapons together with its strong offensive stats.
The City Thief has the default Heeled Sandal as her footwear which has the Stomp Skill which is a strong early game skill.
To recruit the City Thief, you'll have to do the Avalon cat burglar quest.
The Martial Artist is a good party member to add to your retinue. To unlock the class, you'll have to do the “The Strong Martial Artists” quest first by visiting Nibel in South Varennes
When your Martial Artist learns the berserk skill, you can equip him with berserk resisting equipment to offset the skill's negative effect.
With this setup, you can use the class's buff but completely forego the disadvantages of entering the berserked state.
Emperor | |||
---|---|---|---|
Armed Merchant | |||
Retinues | |||
Crusader | Light Infantry | Martial Artist | Court Mage |
Complete The Corsairs' Dilemma side quest to unlock the Armed Merchant class and make the Armed Merchant the emperor.
You can do this by abdicating the throne and passing the title to your current Armed Merchant.
The main reason we want the Armed Merchant as the emperor is to learn the Rapid Stream formation. Not only will this formation increase the whole team's speed, but it will also allow your whole team to attack first every battle.
You can unlock the Crusader class by completing the side quest A Problem of Succession
in Cumberland. Once done, you'll be able to add the Crusader as a Retinue in the tavern.
Not only does the Crusader have a high strength, but it also has decent defensive stats which can be a good replacement for our Heavy Infantry unit.
Emperor | |||
---|---|---|---|
Imperial Guard | |||
Retinues | |||
Impreial Blacksmith | Mercenary | Martial Artist | Court Mage |
Once you have unlocked 9 regions, you'll be able to unlock the Imperial Guard class which has high strengths and good compatibility with close range weapons.
The female imperial guard has a higher compatibility with swords which synergizes well with the emperor's starting sword affinity so transitioning to this class can boost your stats as well as your sword proficiency even further.
You can unlock the Imperial Blacksmith by completing the Pride of the Fabri Family event.
While this class is not the best in terms of combat, it can increase your damage and defense by 10% passively which makes it a great party member to include in general.
When an Imperial Blacksmith is the emperor, talking to the soldier in the training center can unlock the said formation. It increases the damage and defenses of all units which makes it another great formation to consider.
Coppelia's Poker Face ability allows you to negate all status ailments and debuffs which makes it one of the best abilities in the game.
1 | Recruit Coppelia by starting her quest at Somon. This event unlocks after a third generational shift onwards. |
---|---|
2 | Add Coppelia to your party until her quest is completed. |
3 | Make Coppelia the emperor then abdicate the throne. |
4 | Interact with the non-functioning Coppelia on the far right room on the 2nd floor of Avalon Castle. |
Take note that Coppelia can only be recruited once per playthrough so consider this before trying to get her abilities.
Class (Weapon) | Ability |
---|---|
Strategist Junctiion |
Increases damage of spells by 10% |
Amazon Spear and Bow |
Fine Attack Increases damage by 10% when HP is full. |
Desert Guard Great Sword |
Tech and BP consumption reduction Reduces BP consumption by 20% |
Ninja Great Sword, Martial Art |
Weakness Hitter Increases damage against enemy weak points by 15% |
Salamander | Axe, Martial Arts |
Dancer | Short Sword, Bow |
The strategist's specialties vary depending on the character
After unlocking the Imperial Guard, you will also have access to several other classes. Focus on learning new skills from these by adding them to your Retinue and learning the skills by glimmering them.
We highly recommend learning Guanyin for the Ninja and the Dark Blade from the Desert Guard as these are strong skills for the said weapon type that they can spark much faster.
Emperor | |||
---|---|---|---|
Final Emperor | |||
Retinues | |||
Ninja | Saigo Clasnman | Salamander | Strategist |
During the Final Emperor phase, we highly recommend characters that can deal huge amounts of damage. The Ninja with its Martial Artist prowess is highly recommended as they can use the Berserk -> Guanyin combo that can deal absurd amounts of damage.
For supporting characters, the Salamander and Strategist are great options to consider for the supportive techs and buffs. Lastly, the Saigo Clansman is a good tanker that is much more durable than the Heavy Infantry and is a good frontliner to finish the team setup.
Once you have the Final Emperor on the throne, it will no longer be possible to change your current emperor. You'll unlock the Final Emperor after defeating five of the seven heroes so be sure to plan out your game first before proceeding to the final stages of the game.
