Difficulty Differences

Differences Based on Difficulty Level

Enemy HP Changes Depending on Difficulty

Romancing Saga 2 - Difficulty Settings - Enemy HP

As the difficulty level increases, the enemy HP increases as well. Likewise, while you do deal the same amount of damage per attack, the rate of enemy HP lost decreases because of the higher HP. This is especially noticeable when comparing between Casual and Hard (Classic) Mode, with enemy HP increasing by about 1.25x and their attack power increasing by around 2x.

Enemy HP and Attack Multiplier with Normal Base

Casual Normal Hard (Classic)
Enemy HP 0.75x 1x 1.25x
Enemy Attack Max: 0.5x
Min.: 0.75x
1x Max: 2x
Min.: 1.3x

Earned Technical Points Remains the Same

Romancing Saga 2 - Level Up Your Technique and Skills
Increasing the difficulty will give you stronger enemies, but take note that even with the higher difficulty your rewarded Technical Points (TP) will remain the same. It is recommended to increase the difficulty only if you enjoy the harder battles since it will not provide you with anything additional.

The Story Remains the Same Regardless of Difficulty

The difficulty of the game will not affect the content of the story. You can change the difficulty level of the game at any point from the setting menu. This will allow you to adjust the game to match your play style.

Post-Game Dungeon Rewards will Depend on Difficulty

If you have completed the 15 Memories of the Seven heroes, you will be able to fight the Dread Queen in the post-game dungeon Dreadhome.

After defeating the Dread Queen, you will be rewarded based on the difficulty level you defeated her on.
