Nereid is one of the playable and unlockable classes in Romancing Saga 2: Revenge of the Seven. See how to unlock Nereid, its ability, and the formation it will unlock when selected as Emperor.

To unlock the Nereid class, finish the Searching for the Mermaid quest, then drink the Mermaid potion three times to time skip. Afterward, visit the Mermaid again to progress further.
Searching for the Mermaid Quest Walkthrough

To unlock the Hydro Benison ability, defeat 30 enemies after annexing at least one territory to activate the feature to learn abilities. This grants passive buffs from the ability. To master Hydro Benison, defeat an additional 30 enemies once the feature to master abilities is available after annexing seven territories. Mastery allows Hydro Benison to be equipped across any class.

To gain access to the Crescent Tide formation, appoint Nereid as the Emperor. Afterward, visit the Training Hall and speak to the Soldier NPC to unlock this new formation.
