How to Unlock All Spider-Man Suits
The Flame is a series of side missions that explores a side story about Peter's old ally and a cult. Because of this, only Peter can access and complete these side missions. The entire side story is also not missable, and it can still be accessed after the main story.
You will be able to unlock The Flame by completing the ''Amends'' main mission. After you do, you will get a prompt to switch to Peter, and then you will receive a call from Chief Clarke to start the first The Flame mission.
During the first The Flame mission, Where Have You Been?, while saving civilians from a building damaged by Sandman's attack, Peter encounters a group of cultists about to punish one of their own for attempting to leave.
Peter interrupts to save the deserter, hearing about 'The Flame' and the 'Crimson Hour' in the process.
During the fight, a masked character arrives. The person reveals themselves to be Yuri now going by Wraith. She was Peter's police ally in the first game who turned vigilante during the events of The City Never Sleeps DLC.
Yuri seems to know about these cultists, so they agree to track down the cult together.
While infiltrating one of their bases and saving hostages, the leader of the cult reveals himself from a projected screen, mocking Spider-Man and Wraith by giving up his current location at an old hospital.
Yuri reveals that she knows The Flame, as she chased him down back when she was a police officer. She also reveals that The Flame used to run with a different group whom he disposed of after using them.
Unable to wait for Peter, Yuri goes alone to the hospital to kill The Flame. Peter arrives in time to save the cult leader, angering Yuri. A fight ensues between the old allies, allowing The Flame to escape.
Peter tracks down the cult to a scrapyard where the cultists have piled explosives on train tracks. Peter and Yuri derail an oncoming Oscorp train to save the bystanders in the vicinity from the explosion, but Peter is pinned down by the train in the process.
The Flame appears, revealing that his plan all along was to derail the train to be able to grab the symbiote on board.
With his plan successful, the cult leader sets Peter on fire before making his escape. Yuri, still with a chance to stop The Flame, ops to save Peter instead.
While it wasn't explicitly mentioned and he never took the form of the iconic Spider-Man villain, it is heavily implied that The Flame is Cletus Kasady, the recurring host of the Carnage Symbiote.
He mentions the word carnage
during his final monologue, and Yuri mentions Cletus Kasady as one of his aliases.
Yuri Watanabe was the captain of the New York Police in the first Spider-Man game. During the events of The City Never Sleeps DLC, Yuri is pushed over the edge after losing her people to a trap by the villain Hammerhead, leading her to a life of vigilantism.
