New Features

Freely Swap Between Peter Parker and Miles Morales

Freely Switch Between Spider-Men

This time around you have the ability to freely swap and to play as both Peter Parker and Miles Morales swinging around New York City. It is revealed in the Gameplay Trailer that certain story points will require you to switch from one Spider-Man to the other.

Outside of story missions, you can freely swap between Peter and Miles when you open the FNSM App to do so.

Better Suit Customization

This time around, your suits can be customized even further with color and style variations to suit your taste. While the process of acquiring the suits is still in the grey, it is highly likely that it will be level locked in the same case as the two previous games.

Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 - Symbiote Powers

With the introduction of the symbiote Venom, we finally get to see Peter Parker don the Symbiote Suit and have similar abilities to Venom. This includes, but is not limited to, having the ability to grow multiple “arms” to deal with multiple enemies at once.

Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 - Gliding

Insomniac Games has also introduced a new traversal method available for both Peter and Miles, gliding. This will allow for faster travel between points, and easier completion of other collectibles throughout the map. This is also an homage to the classic web wings Spider-Man has in the comics.

Brooklyn and Queens

A major improvement is the expansion of the map of New York City to cover Manhattan, Queens, and Brooklyn. This will make hunting for collectibles more rewarding as you will have to explore a wider area.

Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 - New Map

You'll still be able to explore the areas of Manhattan, like Harlem, Hell's Kitchen, and the Financial District. While the full story of Spider-Man 2 is yet to be determined, you'll likely find yourself swinging through Manhattan much like the previous games to complete benchmarks and collect collectibles.

Classic Suits

Spider-Man 2 will still have the same Suits you've grown to love in the first two games. Suits will be unique to either Peter or Miles, making it a more customizable experience wherein you can choose which strengths you base your playstyle on.

Gadgets

Spider-Man 2 - Web Shooter

Gadgets also make a comeback as you'll need to beef up if you want to take down Venom, Lizard, and Kraven. While most players can get by just with the web shooters, there's always a Spidey gadget for every situation.
