With the introduction of the wingsuit, Spider-Man can now glide while traversing New York by following updrafts and wind tunnels, which are identified in-game as flowing lines between buildings and select areas.
With his wingsuit, Spider-Man could either glide upwards or descend at great speeds by riding the wind of these visible wind paths.
How to Glide With the Wingsuit
With Spider-Man 2's map bigger than it has ever been compared to previous titles, players can expect the map to be brimming with collectibles, missions, and other challenges they could encounter as they swing past the streets of New York.
Consider using the scan feature to display nearby locations so as not to miss select challenges and collectibles as you swing from one point to the next!
Peter Parker and Miles Morales, the the main heroes of Marvel's Spider-Man and Spider-Man: Miles Morales respectively can both be used in Spider-Man 2.
Both Peter and Miles have exclusive challenges, requests, and more, so consider switching between the two Spider-Men now and then to ensure you don't miss out on anything!
How to Switch Between Peter and Miles
Unlike previous Insomniac Spider-Man titles, Spider-Man 2's fast travel system allows players to fast travel to any place on the map instead of a fixed point.
Fast traveling is unlocked by completing district challenges like stopping crime, gathering collectibles, and more. Doing so will increase the District Progress gauge, which rewards players with Tech Parts, Hero Tokens, and the ability to fast travel to the district once completing several challenges.
Make it to a point to dodge whenever Peter or Miles' Spider-Senses activate, as it's a sign of an incoming enemy attack. You can tell when Spider-Man's Spider-Senses are tingling when there are wavy lines above their heads, prompting players to expect an enemy attack any time soon.
Yellow indicator on the enemy could be a sign that the attack can be parried.
Parrying is a newly-introduced combat mechanic in Spider-Man 2. In official gameplay footage, Miles can be seen parrying an enemy attack by using an ability to cancel the incoming attack. Being able to master and perfect this early on could make your Spider-Men untouchable heroes!
When you find yourself in a pinch, never forget to heal! This can be done by using Spider-Man's focus gauge to fill up his health.
Do note that the focus gauge is also used for finishers and the like, so be sure to plan your focus gauge uses accordingly!
Through suit upgrades, skills, and abilities, Peter and Miles could improve Peter and Miles in combat either offensively or defensively through special attacks or buffs.
Looking into each ability and understanding all its effects can allow players to unleash powerful combos that could easily take down foes!
Progressing the main story is vital to unlocking numerous suits, abilities, and upgrades, alongside certain areas and requests.
Additionally, main story progression is also one of the fastest ways to level up, so while there are a lot of collectibles spread out across New York from the get-go, be sure not to neglect the story mode as well!

Tech Parts and Tokens | ||

Tech Part | Rare Tech Part | Hero Token |
Earning Tech Parts and Hero Tokens are vital to upgrading Spider-Man's abilities and skills. These are typically unlocked as rewards when completing requests, gathering collectibles, scouring the city for tech crates, and completing District Progress.
After amassing Tech Parts and Hero Tokens, players can upgrade Spider-Man's Suit Tech which gives him extra abilities and skills that enhance his overall performance in combat and in exploration.
Should players want to gather multiple Tech Parts for Suit Tech upgrades, it is recommended to get the traversal upgrade All Seeing, which allows players to spot tech crates on the mini-map.
Shared alongside Suit Tech, players can also use Tech Parts and Hero Tokens to upgrade Spider-Man's Gadgets. Upgrading and unlocking gadgets allow for more creative web-based attacks using web shooters and similar tools created by Spider-Man.
