You can unlock fast travel when you complete the second node of the District Progress meter. This is the node that has the icon of three purple skyscrapers.

You need to complete district challenges such as stopping crimes and gathering collectibles to fill up the meter. The node will have a green checkmark once you have completed enough district challenges to fill up the District Progress bar.

Spider-Man 2 - Midtown

Midtown is located at the middlemost section of the game's map, allowing you to easily reach the rest of the other districts with ease.

The next districts that are recommended to complete are Downtown Queens and Little Odessa as they easily will give you access to the areas on the right-most corner of the map.

Spider-Man 2's Fast Travel Explained

Fast Travel Anywhere, Not at Fixed Points

In-game Location

Fast travel to wherever your cursor is on the map!

Unlike previous Insomniac Spider-Man titles and games with a fast travel mechanic, Spider-Man 2's fast travel system allows players to fast travel to any place on the map instead of a fixed point.

Another change to the fast travel feature is that it is now seamless. There are no loading screens when fast traveling to a district no matter how far it is from your previous location.

This is due to the game utilizing the PlayStation 5's SSD, which reduces the need to load the game when fast travelling to a different district.
