Completing The Flame missions nets players Hero Tokens. There are a total of 4 The Flame missions which requires Spider-Man to save people from fires.

Clear Hunter Bases

Hunter Bases are locations where Spider-Man can take on Kraven's men that are scattered across the city. These challenges usually reward players with Hero Tokens after clearing each Hunter Base.

Complete Cultural Museum Missions

Cultural Museum requests is a questline where Spider-Man tracks down criminals dipping their dirty work into museum and cultural spaces. Clearing the 2 Cultural Museum Missions reward the player a number of Hero Tokens to use for upgrades.

Complete Mysterium Dev Diaries

Mysterium Dev Diaries are green, diamond-shaped icons that are found on the map which are set up by Mysterio. These are timed challenges that can be completed for rewards like Hero Tokens.

There are 10 total Mysterium Dev Diaries found throughout the city, and finding each one will allow for the Spider-Men to make Mysterio far less mysterious.

Find All Symbiote Nests

Destroying the 6 Symbiote Nests spread out across New York rewards players with Hero Tokens as well. These challenges require Spider-Man to protect a bomb for a given time that would make the Symbiote Nest decompose and vanish.

How to Use Hero Tokens

Use for Late to Endgame Upgrades

Hero Tokens are used for unlocking late game Spider-Suits and final tier Gadget and Suit Tech upgrades.

These Hero Tokens are considered to be one of the tougher ones to obtain, due to their low reward count, as well as requiring players to complete tougher challenges and collectibles to receive them.
