How to Start Star-Crossed World
Defeat Gorimondo and Complete All Natural Plains Stages
To start the Start-Crossed World DLC, you have to defeat Gorimondo, who is the first boss in the game, and complete all the Natural Plains stages.
Additionally, you don't need to get all Waddle Dees in the area. You just need to clear all stages and beat Gorimondo.
The first Starry Stage, Meteor Shower's Arrival, will be available after watching the cutscene from the Fallen-Star Volcano stage.
What to Do If You Can't Access Star-Crossed World
Check If You've Purchased the DLC
If you can't access the DLC, check first if you've actually purchased it in the Nintendo eShop.
Note that the DLC is only available for the Switch 2 Edition of the game. If you have the original Switch game, you will have to purchase the Upgrade Pack to access the DLC.
Check If You've Cleared Natural Plains
If you purchased the DLC, check now if you have cleared all five (5) stages of Natural Plains, including the boss stage, since that's the requirement to start the DLC.
You can check your progress by opening the Stage List menu when you're in the World Map.
Natural Plains Walkthrough and Stage List
Start a New Game
If you still can't start the DLC, a last-resort option would be to start a new game and just clear all the stages of Natural Plains again.
