Evolved Abilities: How to Evolve Copy Abilities

Evolved abilities are stronger versions of Kirby's copy abilities in Kirby and the Forgotten Land. Read on to see their effects, the different stages of evolved abilities, and how to evolve them with blueprints!

Second Stage Evolutions

Chain Bomb	Throw several bombs at enemies and chain them together so they explode all at once.	Bomb
Time Crash	Temporarily pause time to bypass enemies and surround Kirby in a shield that can damage enemies on contact.	Crash
Chakram Cutter	Toss two sharp-edged boomerangs at once and hold B to hover and linger the boomerang in place.	Cutter
Pencil Drill	Burrow underground to avoid enemies and lunge towards them with your pencil drill to deal damage.	Drill
Volcano Fire	Launch balls of fire to burn enemies at farther range and create larger areas of flame.	Fire
Toy Hammer	Bonk enemies with a much larger hammer, and charge your hammer to knock enemies aside.	Hammer
Frosty Ice	Create snowmen with your Ice Breath and launch them at enemies.	Ice
Clutter Needle	Roll into enemies and obstacles by surrounding yourself with sharp clutter.	Needle
Noble Ranger	Fire a weapon from both hands, and unleash a barrage of bullets at enemies.	Ranger
Deep Sleep	Recover health and gain power-ups by sleeping for a short time.	Sleep
Gigant Sword	Lunge a giant sword at your enemies and press L to defend yourself with a shield.	Sword

Dragon Fire	Burn through enemies and obstacles with a far-reaching flamethrower, and glide through the air.	Fire
Wild Hammer	Hit enemies with a giant hammer and launch them into the air by charging up your hit.	Hammer
Blizzard Ice	Freeze enemies by lauching icicles and pushing large chunks of ice in their direction.	Ice
Crystal Needle	Leave behind a trail of crystal spikes as you roll around and launch small crystal shards at enemies.	Needle
Space Ranger	Shoot laser beams at enemies and charge your shot to fire beams that generate electric fields.	Ranger
Meta Knight Sword	Swing your sword at faster speeds and create air slashes to slice through enemies from afar.	Sword

How to Evolve Copy Abilities

Find Blueprints as Rewards or in Stages

You need blueprints to evolve copy abilities back in Waddle Dee Town. Blueprints are found in different stages of the game, often in hidden areas, or are obtained as rewards during certain milestones in the game.

Bring Blueprints to the Weapon Shop

Waddle Dee's Weapon Shop is unlocked after completing the first world of the game, Natural Plains. In the shop, you can view, test out, and evolve all of your current copy abilities. After collecting a blueprint, you will need to bring it to the Weapon Shop before evolving the ability.

Collect Star Coins and Rare Stones

After obtaining the Blueprint of a Copy Ability, you can view the cost of evolving that ability. Copy Abilities require a fair amount of Star Coins and Rare Stones to evolve. Though collecting Star Coins can be done by playing through stages, Rare Stones are not as easily obtained.

Evolve Copy Abilities in Any Order

Though each copy ability has a certain stage in its evolution line, you do not need to follow the stages when evolving the abilities. You can evolve them in order you wish as long as you have the blueprint for it.

Evolve All Copy Abilities to Receive a Figure

After evolving all your copy abilities, you receive a unique figure from the Weapons Shop Waddle Dee. This figure can only be obtained in the post game since some Copy Ability Blueprints are only available after this point.

What are Evolved Copy Abilities?

Stronger Versions of Copy Abilities

Evolved Copy Abilities are stronger versions of Copy Abilities. You can evolve most copy abilities up to three times, but there are some copy abilities that you can evolve twice or even four times.

The two fourth stage copy abilities are only available in the post game, making some of strongest ones in the game.

Different from Mouthful Mode

Evolved Copy Abilities are different from Mouthful Modes, and both have different functions to help you progress through the game. With Copy Abilities, you need to drop the current one you have before using another. Mouthful Mode, however, can still be used even if you have a Copy Ability equipped.

Different from Upgrading Abilities

Upgrading Copy Abilities and evolving them are two separate mechanics in the game. Upgrading Copy abilities does not grant an ability additional effects and only increases its attack power. You can upgrade all copy abilities, including fully evolved ones, up to a certain extent.
