There are a few stages in the game where Kirby will need to traverse through incredibly strong winds which make it difficult to walk. Needle abilities can resist the wind while in their expanded state, so they are incredibly useful during these stages.

How to Power Up (Upgrade) Abilities
As you are scaling up the concrete platforms, you will find a bomb block on top of a transformer box. Make the bomb box explode by hitting it with any attack. This will destroy the metal boxes on the floor and reveal the Blueprint.

If there are no enemies in your current stage that give this ability, you can still obtain it through Mix. When you inhale 2 or more enemies that give different copy abilities, Kirby will cycle through all his current abilities and select one at random.
