Join Kirby in His First 3D Action Adventure

Kirby and the Forgotten Land Review 3D Action Platformer

Most Kirby games are side-scrolling 2D platformers, so this is what the series excels at the most. However, since this new title is a 3D action adventure, it's incredibly refreshing to see Kirby freely move in all directions. If you have played previous Kirby games, it would definitely be fun to explore this new mechanic.

Even while playing in co-op mode, both Kirby and Bandana Waddle Dee can move freely and independently. Though P2 will always need to stay close to P1, and the two cannot swap characters, the multiplayer feature still offers plenty of freedom for both players.

There is little reason not to play this exciting new Kirby title. Despite being an action game, Kirby and the Forgotten Land is easy to pick-up and play, so it is perfect for playing at home with the family or with friends during parties and vacations.

Gameplay and New Features

Rescue Waddle Dees and Watch the Town Grow

Kirby and the Forgotten Land Review Waddle Dee Town

Kirby unlocks many different facilities in Waddle Dee Town as he goes along his journey. The many mini-games in the town are rich in content and can add several hours to your playthrough even after you finish the main story. These include Waddle Dee Cafe, the Colosseum, and Figure collection.

Many of these mini-games can even be played in co-op mode with 2 players.

After resting in Kirby's house, you can also see a variety of Easter Eggs that are a real treat for fans. If you ever need a break from the progressing through the main story, Waddle Dee Town has plenty of fun and relaxing activities to offer.

A Mouthful of New Abilities

Kirby and the Forgotten Land Review Mouthful Mode

Kirby has a wide variety of abilities that return from previous games, including inhaling and spitting out enemies and objects, and Copy Abilities. However, this game introduced a new mechanic that is separate from your typical copy ability, Mouthful Mode.

Mouthful Mode allows Kirby to transform into everyday objects found in various stages. These objects include cars, traffic cones, and vending machines. The new mechanic is both intuitive and easy to control.

The new ability is a very novel and adorable addition to the Kirby franchise.

Evolve Copy Abilities to Hit Harder and Farther

Kirby and the Forgotten Land Review Evolved Abilities

Kirby and the Forgotten Land now allows you to evolve your Copy Abilities into different and often more powerful forms. Just bring a blueprint you have found around the world to Waddle Dee's Weapon Shop to evolve it.

Both the power and range of you abilities are often enhanced when evolved, which makes it worth your while to go out and find different blueprints. Blueprints also engage you to explore the different stages more.

Because of missions, you can either traverse through each stage carefully or as quickly as you can. Since the stages are not too difficult, they have plenty of replay value even after finishing the entire game.
