After finding a code, you will need to go back to Waddle Dee and manually type it in to get the present. Note that codes are case-sensitive.
You can also use these passwords immediately to redeem gifts in the Waddle Dee-liveries facility without getting them personally.
After entering a total of 5 Present Codes, you will get a Figure of Delivery Waddle Dee. You will need to get this Figure to complete all the Volume 1 Figures in the game.

After entering a valid present code at Waddle Dee-liveries, your rewards and free items will arrive at Kirby's House. Interact with the present in order to claim what's inside!
Kirby's House Guide and Activity List
You'll need to save 50 Waddle Dees from various stages in order to unlock the Waddle Dee-liveries building. This means at the earliest, you'll need to at least get past the Abandoned Beach stage before you can start redeeming your codes.
List of Stages and Full Walkthrough
At Waddle Dee-liveries, you can exchange keywords for items that will help you throughout your adventure. In most cases, these presents come in the form of Star Coins or Rare Stones. Note that for some codes, you may require an internet connection.
Present Codes can be found hidden within Waddle Dee Town, so be sure to search around when you have time! When you are near a hidden code, a speech bubble will appear above Elflin. Talk to Elflin and he'll tell you the Present Code.
