What Are Missions?

A Type of Collectible, With 5 In Each Stage

Missions are essentially a type of collectible in the game. There are a total of 5 Missions per stage, with some unique ones that match the map environment.

Missions exist even in Boss Stages

Just like the normal stages, missions are also available in Boss Stages. These missions can be hard to clear, as they are related to how you fight the boss, like taking no damage or defeating it under a specific time.

Rewards you with Waddle Dee

You will be able to free Waddle Dee once you complete a mission on a stage. There are even some missions where you can get multiple Waddle Dees instead of just the usual single Waddle Dee reward. In addition to needing Waddle Dee to progress through the story, unlocking enough of them will also unlock more buildings in Waddle Dee Town.

How Many Waddle Dees Should You Save?

Save Enough to Reach the Boss Stage

If you ignore too many missions, you may have to go back and repeat stages. Each boss stage requires you to have saved a minimum amount of Waddle Dees before entering it, so make sure you don't reach the boss without enough Waddle Dees rescued.

Aim for About Half per Area

You'll generally need close to half of the total amount of Waddle Dees in an area in order to reach the boss. If you only aim to clear the main story, it's a good idea to know how many Waddle Dees you'll need to save beforehand.

Reward for Saving All Waddle Dee

Kirby and Eifilin's Statues on the Plaza

Upon completing all the Missions, golden statues of Kirby and Eifiln will be added to Waddle Dee Town Plaza. These new decorations in the town don't give rewards aside from a Present Code.
