Getting a Copy Ability before each boss fight gives you a better chance of beating them. Copy Abilities are stronger than Star Spits and are easier to use. Take advantage of this by picking the appropriate ability.
Copy Ability Bubbles are usually available near the start of the stage, but if you want to use an ability that's not on the stage, you can head back to the Waddle Dee Town Weapons Shop and pick one up before entering the stage.

Some Copy Abilities have additional effects when used against certain bosses. For example, you can freeze bosses when using the Ice Copy Ability and its evolutions. Test and try different abilities if you have trouble beating certain bosses. While we have recommendations, use whatever ability you're most comfortable with!
Once you evolve the Sleep ability, you can utilize the Deep Sleep ability to not only heal Kirby, but to also get three random buffs. These buffs are a 200-second attack boost, a 200-second speed boost, and a health boost that gives you a second life bar. These are the same buffs the items at Waddle Dee's Item Shop can provide, but you can get them for free through the ability! The buffs don't stack when acquired through the ability, however.
The health boost is the best to obtain before a boss fight, as it enables you to tank more damage, especially if you're playing in Wild Mode. Feel free to obtain all three buffs in Waddle Dee Town Weapons Shop though before getting the offensive Copy Ability you want for the fight ahead!
Deep Sleep Ability Attacks, Evolutions, and Available Stages

You unlock Waddle Dee's Item Shop once you save 145 Waddle Dees. The shop provides Attack Boost, Speed Boost, and Life Up. The two boost items increase their respective stat, while Life Up gives Kirby a second life bar.
The Attack Boost and Speed Boost's durations can be stacked up to five times when repeatedly consuming their items, which will last for 999 seconds at max duration. This is very handy during particularly-difficult boss fights.
In the early game, you can settle with Waddle Dee Cafe and their items. This unlocks after saving 60 Waddle Dees, and it sells its items for much cheaper than the Waddle Dee Item Shop. However, cafe items can only heal and give no buffs.
