The Fishing Pond is an area in Waddle Dee Town that lets you fish and earn Star Coins at the same time in Kirby and the Forgotten Land. Read on to learn how to unlock and play in the Fishing Pond, and see the rewards for fishing successfully!
How to Unlock the Fishing Pond
Save 155 Waddle Dees to Unlock
You can unlock the Fishing Pond area after freeing 155 Waddle Dees on the world map. Try to complete all the Missions from the beginning up to Winter Horns to have access to this area at the earliest.

How to Play the Fishing Minigame
Press the Matching Button to Fish
Press the buttons that pop up on the screen to reel in a fish. The more buttons come out on the screen, the bigger the fish will be, which will reward you with more Star Coins.
Pressing the wrong button will get you trash
However, pressing the wrong button will get you nothing but trash. Watch the button that appears carefully to avoid making a mistake and earning nothing.
How to Catch the Golden Fish
Catch Fish Consecutively
You can encounter the heaviest kind of fish in the game, the Golden Fish, by fishing consecutively. It may take you a couple of tries, but it shouldn't take you more than 5 minutes for one to appear.
Get Ready to Press X Button
Watch out for the buttons carefully, as the Golden Fish will try to fake you out after pressing 4 buttons correctly. The X button will always be the last key to press, so get ready to press it once the camera zooms in on Kirby after correctly pressing the previous buttons. Note that the window for pressing X the final time is very small, so you'll need to be very quick!

You can get Star Coins depending on the weight of the fish you caught. Aim for the heaviest one to get the highest reward!
Fishing-Pond Kirby Figure
You can get the Fishing-Pond Kirby Special Figure after catching a fish that is 8500g or bigger (the Golden Fish). You'll know it's coming if you have pressed a couple of times already, and the screen zooms in on Kirby.

Trophy Bling Blipper
If you have the Star-Crossed World DLC, you can get the Trophy Bling Blipper EX figure after catching a fish that is 8500g or bigger (the Golden Fish). Once you caught the fish, you now have the chance to draw the figure from Astronomer Waddle Dee.
Fishing-Pond Bandana Waddle Dee
Similarly, you can also get the Fishing-Pond Bandana Waddle Dee EX figure after catching a fish that is 8500g or bigger. It will also be available as a random figure from Astronomer Waddle Dee.
