The Lost Cactoid covers what happened to Dran, the Flowering Cactoid, after you've successfully hunted him. His mother will be looking for him and, at a time when it seems that all hope is lost and the Nebra South Village is in trouble, a truly unexpected spectacle occurs. Take a look at this link for the earlier part of this quest:
How to Defeat Flowering Cactoid
1 | At the start, a boat will be floating into the village, without its captain. The child will investigate it. |
---|---|
2 | Agree to accompany the child to the other side of the bank to investigate. You'll see the opposite encampment run over by cactoids. |
3 | The cactoids will leave after a while. The child will speak with his father, who reveals why he let the boat adrift. |
The boat piloted by Tchigiri's father will return pilotless. It is here that the boy will ask for your party's help in finding out what happened to his father, as well as company while he nagivates the Nebra River crossing between settlements.
4 | The cactoids return with their leader, who is revealed to be the Flowering Cactoid's mother. She speaks with the child's father, asking for help to find her missing son. |
---|---|
5 | Return to the Nebra South Bank and talk to Dantro's wife, who reveals the possibility that the cactoid you hunted may just be the missing son. |
It is revealed that the people of the Northern Settlement of the Nebra Banks is being (sort of) held hostage by the cactoids of the Dalmasca Desert. The large Flowering Cactoid is revealed to be your quarry's mother, looking for her son whom you recently hunted. This presents you and the villagers with a problem.
6 | She'll tell you of where she threw the remnants of the Flowering Cactoid's flower. Investigate behind her house and find the flower growing there. |
---|---|
7 | It will also be revealed that the cactoid has regenerated, and it may be the missing cactoid. |
Return to the Southern Nebra Village. Dantro's wife will be worried that you may have killed off the huge Flowering Cactoid's son. However, she will tell you where she threw the remnants of the flower. Look for it to find it surprisingly growing and out pops an exact replica of Dran--it might possibly even be Dran regenerated.
8 | Return this cactoid to the other side of the village. The cactoid leader will recognize it as her son. |
---|---|
9 | The cactoids will leave, with the cactoid mother and son thanking you with items. |
10 | The village ferry service also becomes available and free for you to use any time as another reward. |
Return with Tchigiri to the Northern Village in time to find Dran's mother waiting. Show her the revived Dran, and they will leave in peace. Dran also returns for a short while to give you your rewards. Afterwards, the Nebra River Service will be available free of charge for you, to use anytime.
