Aerondight - Banner.jpg
To get this item you must first finish the Secondary Quest called There Can Be Only One which can be taken by talking to the hermit at the middle of the lake in Toussaint, which is directly north of Beauclair Palace. This quest will give objectives where you will have to prove that you have the 5 different traits required to become a worthy owner of the sword. You will have to choose specific dialogues on quests in order to prove these traits.

Generosity

Is Aerondight a Good Weapon?

Best Armor and Weapons - Aerondight.jpg
Aerondight's damage can easily be increased because of its ability to generate charges that powers up your damage by 10% with each blow you land. Successfully charging up your Aerondight will guarantee that your next attack will always deal a critical hit. Also, killing a foe with this weapon will permanently increase the weapon's damage, and its cap will depend on your current character level.

How to Upgrade Aerondight

As this is not a Witcher Item, it can't be upgraded in the current version of the game. Witcher Items can be upgraded by finding the Diagram associated with the higher Rarity version of the Item, including the Base Diagram, Enhanced, Master, and finally Grandmaster.
