Tyranid Warrior Enemy Information

Characteristics

The Tyranid Warrior is a Majoris threat Tyranid enemy that you will regularly fight in both the Campaign and Operations game modes. Tyranid Warriors are the iconic front-liners of Tyranid armies and they come in different variations

Variations

Lash Whip	Has longer melee range and a faster dodge.
Barbed Strangler	Has a small AoE ranged attack and farther dodge.
Venom Cannon	Can lay poison bio mines and has an unblockable snipe attack.

Attacks and Abilities

The attacks of the Tyranid Warrior varies depending on the Variant you are facing. The standard and Lash Whip warriors are melee-only, while the Barbed Strangler and Venom Cannon variants are ranged-focused.

Warrior Guard

The Standard Tyranid Warrior has a defensive stance where they cross their swords and mitigate incoming light melee and ranged attacks.

Venom Cannon Warrior

When the Venom Cannon variant's Bio Mines explode, they leave a posion effect on the areas they were planted. Walking through these areas cause you to move slower and take chip-damage.

Additionally, this variant's snipe will cause a knockdown if you fail to dodge in time.

How to Beat Tyranid Warrior

Focus on Warriors When Swarmed

Instead of taking out the small-fry first, prioritize executing Tyranid Warriors as they cause a Synaptic Shock that takes out a lot of nearby Hormagaunts or Termagants.

The Melta Meta

The Melta Rifle or Multi-Melta do very well against Tyranids in general. These weapons might have a slow firing rate, but they make up for that with high damage.

Headshots

Despite being armored, the head of Tyranid Warriors also gives you a big target. Focus on these at range or shoot at them before getting to melee range.

Use Heavy Melee Attacks

Despite being slower, if you do manage to get into melee with Tyranid Warriors, try landing heavy melee attacks as they do more damage and can stagger.

Heavy melee attacks also break the Standard Tyranid Warrior's Guard.
