Black Rabite is capable of inflicting various status ailments that can hinder you throughout the fight.
Make use of Careena's Shaman's Dance+ class ability from her Dancer class to remove any status effects immediately. Julei also has a class ability called Aromatic Mint which removes status effects upon healing an ally.
Keep these class abilities in mind if the status ailments are becoming a nuisance to you.
Black Rabite is a level 80 secret boss and is not advised to fight if you are underleveled. The damage you deal against a higher level opponent is decreased compared to an opponent of the same level so try to reach level 80 or higher to make things easier.
Palamena's Masquer class has an ability that increases her damage by 30% when attacking an enemy of higher level than her. Keep this in mind if you plan to use Palamena against the Black Rabite.
Black Rabite is resistant to all elements but can be damaged by normal and special attacks. Val and Morley should be great choices for these as they can high base damage for their physical attacks.
Even though Black Rabite's attacks have a variety of elements, his most powerful attacks are of the Dark element. Use Val's Dark Shield class move so you can reduce the damage of Black Rabite's attacks.
Eventually, Black Rabite will charge dark energy in the middle with 3 orbs surrounding him. Destroy all the orbs immediately as failure to do so will result into a powerful, party-wide attack.
Additionally, you can also use your Class Strike just before Black Rabite starts charging to interrupt and cancel this move.
When Black Rabite starts to emit a yellow aura, multiple Luna Spheres will envelope the arena. These spheres have a similar effect to the Luna Globe that can slow down time for anyone that touches it. Avoid them at any cost as this will hinder all your animations.
When Black Rabite reaches to around 30% health, he will begin to summon 3 clones that will the do same rotating beam move in different positions.
Avoid this by double jumping and staying in the air until the move is done. You can also use the Dark Shield to mitigate the damage of the beams.
Once you have defeated all the clones, the original Black Rabite will swing around and go back to its regular state. At this point, all you have to do is whitle down his HP until you defeat him.
