How to Play Ultimate Team (MUT) |
---|
|
To play Ultimate Team, make sure to complete the tutorial first. This will help you get a better grasp of the game and earn rewards along the way. However, if you're already familiar with the game, you can skip the tutorial and still receive the rewards after.
Use the packs you've received from rewards to unlock more players for your team. This will give you a head start in team building and allow you to immediately play in the available modes.
Once you have enough players in your inventory, you can go ahead and adjust your Lineup to your liking. Make sure to fill the necessary spots to ensure your team qualifies for plays. If you leave a required spot open, you won't be able to play any games.
Once your team is ready, head back to the main menu to start playing. You can choose solo modes for quick games, H2H if you want to play with other players online, or Play a Friend if you want to play with your friends.
Alternatively, you can try the practice mode to see how your team performs before facing other players.
Ultimate Team (MUT) Tips |

You can earn plenty of rewards, such as player cards, packs, and coins, by completing challenges found in the Ultimate Team main menu. Make sure to do this to collect more items before playing through other modes in the game.
In addition to the mentioned rewards, you can also earn other in-game currencies such as training points and season tickets, which can be used to purchase more packs in the shop.
Currencies | How to Get |
---|---|
Coins | ・Sell Cards ・Event Rewards ・Auction Items |
Madden Points | ・Events ・Pre-Order Reward ・Purchase from Store |
Training Points | ・Quick Sell Players ・Complete Sets |
Season Tickets | ・Quick Sell Players ・Play Games ・Complete Challenges |
You can also progress through the Live Event objectives by simply completing challenges. For example, completing the Training Camp challenges found in the Ultimate Team menu can help you tick off some challenges in the Training Camp live event.
When choosing packs to purchase, you can check the probability of each to see the odds of getting certain OVRs. Depending on what your team needs, you can opt for more expensive packs with better chances of obtaining rare players, or cheaper packs with a lower probability of rare players.
In Madden NFL 25, each pull is treated as a separate event, meaning the probabilities for that pull are fixed and won’t change in your next pull. The game does not feature the same gacha practice found in other games where drop rates can be influenced by repeated pulls or purchases.
When pulling cards, it's best to sell any lower-rarity cards, especially if you have duplicates or if the player's role isn't useful to you. You can also use the compare feature to check the stats of your duplicates to determine if your pulls are worth keeping or selling.
Once you've sold any cards you don't plan to use, you'll immediately gain coins. You can use these coins to buy more cards or participate in auctions to find a specific card you need.
When pulling packs, watch out for cards with coin animations on them. These cards, regardless of their rarity, are in high demand and can sell for a good price at auctions. Keep them in your inventory or send them there directly to gain more coins.
You can also take advantage of the Sets feature found in the shop. By gathering specific items from these sets, you can unlock rewards such as player cards and playbooks.
If you're unsure how to build a team with the players you've recently pulled from packs, you can use the Generate Best Lineup option to create a lineup. This feature covers the entire team, but you can also generate lineups specifically for your offense, defense, and special teams.
Additionally, you can use this option to fill any empty slots in your lineup.
When making pulls, it's best to use players with ratings between 85 and 90 or higher. If you have a player with a 99 rating, even better.
If you've pre-ordered the game, you can also get Christian McCaffrey for free. He comes with an overall of 80 and can make a great Halfback for your team. This is particularly good for beginners as you can get a good player immediately as you start this game mode.
Pre-Order Guide: All Preorder Rewards
It's recommended to stick with the intended roles for your pulls. Don't use a player in a different role just because they have a higher overall rating compared to your existing one. Each player has a specific set of stats, and chances are they have lower stats for the role they’re not meant to fulfill.

OVR Band is a new feature that sets probabilities or guarantees specific content for certain pulls from packs. This allows you to target specific packs, especially if you're looking for a particular set of OVRs to get. However, keep in mind that the higher the OVR, the lower the probability of obtaining it.
Epic Challenges are new sets of challenges with higher difficulty. They are not beginner-friendly, so only attempt these challenges when you're confident in your team!
You can access these challenges anytime from the Ultimate Team main menu for solo play only.
Ranked games are now available in Ultimate Team for both solo and Head-to-Head (H2H) modes. This feature matches you with players of similar rank, effectively lowering the chances of facing opponents from higher or lower ranks.
Weekend Gauntlet is a new competitive mode where you need to secure 10 wins without losing more than once. After two losses, you’ll be immediately dropped from the mode and will need to qualify again by winning 16 MUT Champs.
However, if you manage to get 10 wins, whether with or without one loss, you'll earn rewards exclusive to this mode!
Ultimate Team in Madden NFL 25 will also feature a 6-on-6 game mode in future events. This mode allows you to focus on certain players since you'll be entering games with fewer members, making it easier to navigate the field efficiently.
