Touchback can be a strategy that can help set up your team to gain the offensive advantage and better position themselves in Madden NFL 25. Read on to learn how to touchback, as well as why you should consider touchback in Madden NFL 25.

Touchback at the End Zone

Platform Button
PC Press R after catching the ball on the end zone field.
Xbox
Press XBOX - Y Button.png after catching the ball on the end zone field.
PS
Press PS4 - Triangle Button.png after catching the ball on the end zone field.

You could perform an intentional touchback by catching the ball on the end zone field after the opposing team performs a kickoff. Once the ball flies above the field, ensure that the ball's landing target is on the end zone field.

If you've caught the ball, press the Knee button as indicated in the table above to execute an intentional touchback.

Madden NFL 25 - How to Touchback End Zone

A touchback is only counted when the ball hits the end zone field. If the ball is caught outside the end zone field, you will Hurdle when you attempt to press the Knee button indicated above.
