To do a Slide, tap X or the Square button for consoles; or Q for PC. Only QB's can perform a slide, attempting to slide with a different ball carrier or having low awareness will make them fall to the ground instead.

Sliding or giving up is best used when opposing players are surrounding your ball carrier. Sliding will help you avoid any further contact from defenders and will end the play on your own terms.
